An introduction to Mediator Pro - multimedia authoring software, perfect for E-Portfolios This is a featured page

Mediator Pro is a powerful but amazingly easy to use multimedia authoring tool. The interface is very clean and intuitive and relies on simple, familiar toolbars and drag and drop. You can still use all your favourite tools, like Flash, PowerPoint etc. Mediator makes it easy to assemble all sorts of documents and formats into one easily distributed package.

The output from Mediator is very flexible - you can create auto-running CDs, html pages, Flash animations, zipped executables (my favourite) that expand when downloaded run and collapse again when closed.

The output file can include almost any sort of file you can think of, e.g. whole word documents can be enclosed within the executable that you distribute saving your audience from having to remember to download them separately.

Thus a whole module of work or a course can be distributed in one file, or conversely a whole unit of work created by a student can be submitted/stored as a single file. Compiling an executable means your work is protected and your copyright is protected.

For the more adventurous, the simple event driven nature of the interface enables you to use simple programming concepts and even produce front end applications to databases.

If you have never used a program like this before then it is really worth a look, it is the natural extension of presentation software, yet retains an interface which is just as simple to use and concepts like master pages and action buttons we are all familiar with.
